The Gem Collection - A Wonderful Christmas Gift

Have no more items on your basket for Christmas gift-giving? Well, we have the same situation, but not until when I get a dose of inspiration from this one wonderful collection of words of wisdom. It was last Saturday, December 11, 2010, during the Book Launch at the Bestsellers, National Book Store in Robinsons Galleria of ‘The Gem Collection – A Compilation of Wisdom’ by Joseph T Bismark, Co-Founder & Group Managing Director of the Qi Group of Companies.

A charismatic story-teller, simple stories, profound truths, and a best seller called the ‘The Gem Collection – A Compilation of Wisdom’.

The book, which the author maintains “is not really a book but just a compilation of my musings and reflections, brought about by my experiences and insights on random, everyday matters." A compilation of his musings and reflections; has been described by many readers as a refreshing reminder in today’s fast paced world that true wealth stems from a life that is lived in harmony with oneself and the people around us.

It all started off as a series of thought provoking emails and intranet articles by Bismark to his fellow colleagues. These initial postings, aptly titled ‘Gems of Wisdom’ (GOW) soon took on a life of its own as the readers started to share the GOW with their friends and associates outside of the company. Soon, his blog (www.gemsofwisdom.net) ensued and it was only a matter of time before the blog evolved into the book.

Officially launching the book in the presence of more than 100 enthusiastic customers and well-wishers, Ms. Donna Imson, Executive Chairperson QNet Ltd (a Qi group company) said, “This book gives us a wonderful peek into the thoughts of the man that is Joseph Bismark who has always strived to remind us that success is not just built on material achievements, but also on spiritual growth, inner satisfaction and peace, which can only be acquired through meaningful service to others. The stories here are simple, drawn from daily life, yet immensely impactful as they lead the reader towards a heightened awareness.”

Since its launch in June 2010, the bestseller ‘The Gem Collection – A Compilation of Wisdom’ (Published by RYTHM House Publishing) has made its way to avid readers, across continents. Now by popular demand the book is being translated into multiple languages and introduced in bookstores across many countries so that more and more people can benefit the same way the author did, when these gems were passed on to him by the greatest teacher of all – life.

Speaking to fans during the book signing ceremony, the modest author said “In true sense, I have not really authored this book, but merely compiled the learnings that I have been fortunately exposed to, in my journey of life. I hope you derive as much pleasure reading it, as I have had, writing it.”

Compiled in an engaging format, the book makes an interesting read, gently nudging the reader towards realizing that the most profound truths actually reside at the core of our being and with little effort we can discover the value in the gems of wisdom that we pick up in our respective daily lives.

The Gem Collection will be available in National Book Store outlets across the Philippines.

The populace of running has tremendously increased and still continues to do so up to this time. Running has become a fitness trend as well as a way of life, if not for all, but for many people. People of all walks, age, affiliation and status have been hooked in this new kind of “golf”. These made event organizers, companies, foundations, non-profit and non-government organizations attracts the heart of runners to support a lot of purpose – from a fund-raising event, product launching, marketing and advertisement, and for the cause of their beneficiaries if any. When I regained my interest in running way back in 2008, I and my colleagues participated on an event that has benefited a TV network’s foundation which has also been helping a lot of people. Just after a few months, we are again on the same kind of event, which was to benefit the “Tahanang Walang Hagdanan”. Then we joined next some promotional campaigns such as the “run don’t ride” campaign of the Land Transportation Off

Will You Run For a Free Education?

Before the upcoming 2010 Philippines national election, let us all first run for a free Education, just for one day! I have always wondered where will I be at every moment of my post-school life if I have not been privileged for a scholarship granted education. With my Mom occupying two kinds of responsibility to us - her 3 kids - both as a Father and a Mother, we have no special means of coping up with all the budget constraints. In my high school years, I've learned and enjoyed special activities that makes me earn from as small as Php 0.25 to as high as Php 3.00 just to save up for my College years. I've enjoyed selling plastic bags in the busy market, Newspapers in jeepney terminals and in the streets of our village, washing dishes for a summer job in one of the famous hotels, and sell sweepstakes tickets together with the blind people in Baguio City parks. While my sister, who is now in Australia, as early in her 1st grade in elementary, learned to barter fresh fr
